Kris Allen

Kris Allen set himself apart on Season 8 of “American Idol” with his renditions of Kanye West’s “Heartless” and Michael Jackson’s “Man In The Mirror,” gaining himself the support of millions of fans who would eventually crown him the Season 8 American Idol. Since then, the 24-year-old has debuted his first self-titled album and landed five songs on the Billboard charts, including his single “No Boundaries,” which also soared to the top spot on the iTunes chart. His current single, “Live Like We’re Dying” pairs a catchy melody with sweet sentiments about living in the moment and without regret. The song peaked at number eighteen on the Billboard Top 100 chart, appearing also on the Adult Pop, Christian Contemporary, and Pop Songs charts.

Allen knew that music would be a part of his future since childhood, and was influenced by his father Neil, who sang lead vocals in a rock band called Maxxzoid, to follow his dreams. By self-teaching himself to play the guitar and beginning to write songs his sophomore year of college, Allen was well on his way to following his dreams of becoming a performer when the opportunity to audition for American Idol provided him with the big break he needed to embark on an exciting music career.
