Darius
Rucker
Major life themes—falling in love, birth, and death—create
the foundation for the songs on Darius Rucker’s most
recent “Learn to Live” album, including tracks
such as his first country single, “Don’t Think
I Don’t Think About It,” “It Won’t
Be like This for Long,” and “Alright.”
Though
Rucker may be a newcomer to the country stage, he’s
been an immensely successful singer and songwriter since
the 1994 debut of Hootie & The Blowfish’s Grammy
Award-winning album “Cracked Rear View.” The
band soared to success in the pop music genre with Rucker’s
soulful, rich baritone and witty lyrics. Now, as a solo
performer, Rucker has returned to his South Carolina roots
and kinship with country music performers and songs, releasing
his first solo album in 2008.
Since beginning his country
career, Rucker has been welcomed with open arms by country
music fans, radio stations, and fellow artists, as well
as maintaining the support of his Hootie & The Blowfish
fans, helping make “Learn to Live” a Billboard
100 chart-topping album.
Candy
Coburn
Candy Coburn grew up listening to country and gospel, inspired by her
grandmother’s ability to “belt it out.” This early love
for music blossomed into a country music career in which Coburn is known
for her energetic delivery, true-to-life-lyrics. Her most recent release
was the single, “Pink Warrior,” the anthem written and recorded
by Coburn for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation.
Coburn hits the
stage with with songs like “Rockin’ A Mile A Minute,” “Waitin’ For
The Light To Change,” “Big Dreamin’ in a Little Town,” and “Nothin’ New.” Her
newest album is set to release in late 2010, with the first singles scheduled
to hit the radio waves in May.
